Amazon has recently announced the new feature of invoking custom skills from Alexa routines. This is a great way to increase usage, because skills can now be accessed through things like a custom utterance or an alarm. 

Overview of Routines

Routines can be hugely beneficial in terms of increasing engagement by launching a skill behaviorally (routinely), and with minimal effort. There are no pre-requisites besides making sure your skill is enabled. Below is how you can go about implementing this experience (from left to right):
